Proverbs 21:5
~ ""The plans of the diligent lead to profit, as surely as haste leads to poverty."" |
| Thought: |
| "This is a solid principle, whether I apply it to parenting, helping my children with their homework or seeing that they do their chores. ?Teaching my children to be diligent [hardworking, industrious, unrelenting] will serve them all of their lives." |
| Challenge: |
| Be on the lookout for long-range goals that can provide a life lesson for my children. This could be anything from getting them a savings account to helping them to begin the study process early for a test. ?Remember it is best for my children to have to work a little for the things they receive rather than having everything handed to them and growing up feeling entitled. |
| Prayer: |
| "Lord, help me see ways to teach my children to be diligent and then help me with the follow-through! ?Keep me from just giving my children everything, ?it is so easy to do this, because I love them and I really do feel pleasure when I give them something. Help me place the life time character development over the temporary enjoyment of just providing everything that they want." |
