Proverbs 27:2
~ ""Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else and not your own lips."" |
| Thought: |
| Both Jesus and Paul taught on this principle. ?We have all been turned off by name dropping. ?And worse; singing our own praises and those of our children and their accomplishments (as a reflection of how wonderful our parenting is). I know I am guilty of it all. |
| Challenge: |
| "The next time I converse with someone, I want to be more interested in finding out about them, instead of telling them all about me. ?I need to model this in front of my children and coach them to do the same if they are going to be other oriented." |
| Prayer: |
| "Lord, help me and help my children to be other oriented, not self focused. ?Keep us from tooting our own horn, but instead help us to be sincerely interested in the accomplishment of others. ?Help me to not ?seek my own good, but the good of others." |
