Proverbs 13:3
~ ""He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin."" |
| Thought: |
| "Learning self-control in the area of our mouth and what comes out it, ?can be a challenge. ?But here God describes it as a matter essential to a good life. ?Speaking rashly can hurt others, can bring a friendship to ruin and can create an environment of ugliness in the home. ?I need to constantly be on guard that I dont speak rashly to my children and others that I love." |
| Challenge: |
| "I want to memorize this verse and be able to say it before anything rash comes out of my mouth. ?This will give me the time to evaluate whether what I am saying is good and helpful, or unwarranted and hurtful." |
| Prayer: |
| "Lord, help me to guard my mouth. ?When I get stressed, it is so easy to speak rashly and say things I regret. ?Lord, bring this verse to my mind, every time I am tempted to be careless. ?I want the things that come out of my mouth to be good, ?to honor You, ?and to build up those I love." |
